Firstly, ligate the anchorage teeth, then put Wire Stops at the mesial side of the anchorage teeth (brackets). Ensure that the Cu-NiTi Wire is about 1-2mm apart from the anterior brackets. Secondly, secure the Ti-Stops with a flat-jawed plier. Finally, complete the whole ligating procedure as usual, and the rapid maxillary expansion will start.
